Kindred Self Ultrasonic Diffusers
What is the main difference between the SOL and Miniko Diffuser? Is one better than the other?
Both diffusers offer similar features apart from one... Miniko has an intermittent feature which doubles its running time. This feature would be used if you are pregnant, have young children in the space or pets and wish to have more control over the amount of essential oils you ingest. Using less oil or simply switching the diffuser off manually is also a way to manage this.
Do the diffusers come with a warranty?
Yes, each Alcyon Diffuser that we sell comes with a 12 month warranty. If you experience any problems with your diffuser you can phone Alcyon directly on 1300 882 332 or submit a fault claim here >
How many drops of pure essential oil should I use in my diffuser?
When using a new blend of essential oils for the first time, we recommend first trying 2-3 drops in your diffuser until you have adjusted to the blend being around you. Once you sense all is well, we recommend using no more than 6 drops in your diffuser (4 drops for Miniko). After a few hours you may not notice the fragrance, however it is still there silently working in the background. It is natural to not notice the fragrance after you have been in the room for a while. Walk out and come back in and you will notice the oils again. If you want to you can also try adding another 2 drops to the diffuser after it's been running for a few hours.
What are the main benefits of using an Ultrasonic Diffuser?
Ultrasonic Diffusers provide a carefree way to safely introduce essential oils to your environment for all to enjoy. The aromatic mist is a welcome final layer to any space - you will feel hugged and supported all day and all night long!
The convenience of the auto switch off feature truly makes it a 'set and forget about it' product. No candles, means they are safe to use around pets and children, and if you leave the space and forget about it, it will switch off when it runs out of water.
How do I clean my Ultrasonic Diffuser?
Fill your diffuser about half way with clean water. Make sure you stop well below the max line. Add up to 10 drops of pure white vinegar. This will help in removing the oil residue that is stuck inside the diffuser and on the glass or plastic components.
Let the diffuser run for about 15 minutes to allow the water-vinegar mixture to disperse throughout the unit and clean it. Drain the diffuser completely. Using a cotton bud dipped in vinegar, gently clean the tight corners to make sure no areas are left dirty. Rinse with clean water making sure you don't get any water near the electrics. Empty again and you're good to go.
