Shop small, support local and personally get to know the maker!

OmMade Meet the Maker is like a mini department store but with a small twist… it features Adelaide makers and curators who are passionate about locally made and ethically sourced products.

This unique retail concept was originally founded by Tina Walsh of OmMade Organic Skincare. In 2018 Tina opened the doors to the first collaboration store in Adelaide's Central Market, and since then the group has expanded into two additional stores, Westfield Marion and Rundle Place.

Each maker in the collaboration shares shop space and works as shop keeper across the three Adelaide stores. Everyday you can meet a different maker behind each product and build a direct relationship with their brand, making this a truly unique retail concept.

We are starting to notice more and more that there’s an increased appreciation of locally made products. Shoppers seem to be more mindful about where their purchases come from, and the ripple effect of their one small transaction - supporting the little business owner and keeping their dollar in South Australia.

The overall store experience at Meet the Maker is also being noticed. Last week I was helping a customer in our Marion store and she was looking at me strangely as if to say ‘why is this person being so friendly and nice to me!’ She was amazed by the extra time I had allowed to help her, and she genuinely thanked me for this.

I suppose that’s the tangible difference when you can connect directly with the face behind the brand. So we at OmMade Meet the Maker aim to bring back that old fashioned kind of service. Our goal is to share our love of our chosen craft, and to show you our immense appreciation for simply noticing and supporting what we do by continuing to offer you our beautifully made and well priced products.
